WENET Agriculture program in Uganda Climate-smart livelihoods

The problem

What stands in the way

About 75% of employment in Uganda is in agriculture, yet many rural families farm at subsistence level, one bad season away from hunger.

The opportunity — what WENET does

Agriculture that creates independence

Our Agriculture & Community Livelihood program has mentored 1,680 rural farmers in Lira District, organised into three associations — Agweng (640), Aromo (480) and Ayami (560) — and 210 Farmer Enterprise Groups. We teach climate-smart and food-forest methods that raise yields, build resilience and turn subsistence plots into reliable income.
