Vocational Training
Tailoring, soap making and enterprise skills at the Ayami Skills Empowerment Embassy.
Skills that earn income
The problem
What stands in the way
Youth unemployment in Uganda sits at 13.3%, and a certificate without a marketable skill rarely pays the bills. Young people need skills that turn into income now.
The opportunity — what WENET does
Vocational Training that creates independence
At the Skills Empowerment Embassy in Ayami (Lira), WENET trains youth and women in practical, sellable trades: tailoring, soap and Vaseline making, and youth skills and sports. 74 people have completed vocational training, and "Give Vocational Tools" lets supporters equip a graduate to start earning immediately.
