The problem
What stands in the way
Over a third of girls in Uganda marry before 18, and missed school days during menstruation push many out of education entirely. When a girl loses her schooling, a community loses her potential.
The opportunity — what WENET does
Women Empowerment that creates independence
Our Women & Gender program has trained 908 adolescent girls in reusable sanitary pads and hygiene, helping them stay in school. Through the Skills Empowerment Embassy, women gain trades and enterprise skills. Together this builds agency — income, voice, and the power to refuse child marriage.
